Presidential Debates-part two

okay.
so i just finished watching the debates
(and actually taking notes on them)
and i think that both candidates did a good job overall.
Both candidates seemed very defensive and were very eager to get the opportunity to rebuttle the others argument.
however there wasn't really anything new
except for mccain's new mortgage policy which could help him in the polls
Here's some (not new) specifics about the candidates
Iraq war:
-mccain wants to bring them home only after victory
-obama wants to bring them home now
Russia:
-mccain said there is no threat for another cold war
*we should show moral support to the ukrain
-obama said we should show moral support and give aid to all the ex soviet satellites
*we should reduce our energy consumption which will in turn reduce some of russia's incoming money
What would we do if Iran attacked Isreal:
-mccain said we would attack and not wait for the UN to make a decision on wheather or not to attack
*"we can't stand by and let another holocaust happen"
-obama said we would help isreal but would like to have direct talks to iran beforehand

overall mccain tended to emphasize the fact that he was in the military and what an honor it was to serve our country, and obama tended to focus on our economic state. such as the issue of healthcare.

i have to see i was a little disappointed because i ready for mccain to "take his gloves off" and attack obama because i think it would have been interesting to see how it would have paned out. i do think that mccain was agressive and had a few low blows (Obama doesn't understand foreign policy) but obama was really good at counter-punching

in the reaction after the debates (i wathced pbs) they said 3-1 that obama had a slight edge and that this debate didn't change the race much.either in the candidates momentum or the polls. they also said that both candidates should have adapted a new economic platform because of our failing economic status.mccain however did do that with his new plan.

i think i'd have to give my edge to obama
-but that could just be my bias =)
