election day

I'm missing school today
(for what i think is a worthy cause)
i'll be canvassing/phone banking/and handing out refreshments to all the democrats standing in line waiting to vote

update

as of 8:22 today
Obama/Biden 278
228 Solid 50 Leaning
McCain/Palin 132
118 Solid 14 Leaning
Toss Up 128

today

judgement day.
i'm freaking out
it all comes down to this
i'm not sleeping tonight

adn i got hardly any
"none of your business" answers

today

was my first day volunteering
i actually feel like i'm making a difference
it's a great feeling
but while i was canvassing i saw all these lies
about how obama's going to ruin the military and all of this other stuff
while anyone who believes that is an idiot
it's actually the other way around
on the 13 veteran's bills mccain has only showed up four times and voted in favor once
obama showed up all 13 times and voted in favor all 13 times
try to argue that

mccain

is coming to junction on tuesday
i guess somebodys feeling a little nervous
haha

=)

oh and by the way
colorado, pennsylvania, new mexico, and nevada are all leaning obama

halloween gossip part two

part two.
on the way to a halloween party yolie and i also talked about sarah palin
to be perfectly honest, we're both just sick of that woman
how can the republican party support some woman who is an incompetent hypocrit who spent thousands of dollars on a freaking jacket?
you would think that her daughters teen pregnancy would make her realize that maybe we need to teach things more than abstinence
abstinence is great but its not going to put the condom on
and i'm really getting sick of all of these people defending her daughter's pregnancy
they say that it doesn't affect her as a leader
but in reality, you know that if obama had a preganant daughter you would never hear the end of it
it would all be about how he never instilled good morals in his daughter and blah blah blah blah blah blah
what also scares me about palin is that she's just a hearbeat away from the presidency.
i could live with mccain
but that woman is a monster
the thing that bothers me the most about her is that she doesn't belive in global warming
like seriously
how can you not!?
i'm not even going to try to understand that woman
i'm done.
that's my rant for today

halloween gossip part one

so yesterday i went trick-or-treating with key club
we were trick-or-treating for unicef
and every house we went to was very generous and agreed that it was a good cause
since we decided to split up to cover more area i didn't know how well the others did
but i guess it turned out that not everyone had such a good time
i guess some the neighborhoods that yolie and ashley went to were not so keen on the idea of giving spare change to unicef
they said they didn't agree with it because it was part of the UN
and that it was socialist
my question to them is
what's so wrong with socialism
seriously i dont' get it. maybe someone can explain it to me, but yolie and i just couldnt' understand what these people were saying

tomorrow

will be my first day canvassing for the democratic party
i'm kind of nervous
but i'm really excited
the election is coming up and i'm just really getting nervous about whose going to win
if mccain wins
it will be sad to know that all of my hard work was for nothing

i don't think we're in alaska anymore

McCain messages

okay, so i've gotten like 4 McCain message about how Obama is a terrorist and all this other crap. and i have to see it's kind of appalling. in this case i think his smear campaign has backfired.

my mom was on the fence on who to vote for, but after hearing that message, she's all about Obama

Palin

Even though i think it's great that all of these politicians are coming to junction, i don't think i will be attending to see sarah palin. i'm trying to get myself to go-just for the experience. but i don't think it's going to happen.

Presidential Debates-part two

okay.
so i just finished watching the debates
(and actually taking notes on them)
and i think that both candidates did a good job overall.
Both candidates seemed very defensive and were very eager to get the opportunity to rebuttle the others argument.
however there wasn't really anything new
except for mccain's new mortgage policy which could help him in the polls
Here's some (not new) specifics about the candidates
Iraq war:
-mccain wants to bring them home only after victory
-obama wants to bring them home now
Russia:
-mccain said there is no threat for another cold war
*we should show moral support to the ukrain
-obama said we should show moral support and give aid to all the ex soviet satellites
*we should reduce our energy consumption which will in turn reduce some of russia's incoming money
What would we do if Iran attacked Isreal:
-mccain said we would attack and not wait for the UN to make a decision on wheather or not to attack
*"we can't stand by and let another holocaust happen"
-obama said we would help isreal but would like to have direct talks to iran beforehand

overall mccain tended to emphasize the fact that he was in the military and what an honor it was to serve our country, and obama tended to focus on our economic state. such as the issue of healthcare.

i have to see i was a little disappointed because i ready for mccain to "take his gloves off" and attack obama because i think it would have been interesting to see how it would have paned out. i do think that mccain was agressive and had a few low blows (Obama doesn't understand foreign policy) but obama was really good at counter-punching

in the reaction after the debates (i wathced pbs) they said 3-1 that obama had a slight edge and that this debate didn't change the race much.either in the candidates momentum or the polls. they also said that both candidates should have adapted a new economic platform because of our failing economic status.mccain however did do that with his new plan.

i think i'd have to give my edge to obama
-but that could just be my bias =)

economy

is anyone else freaking out about the possibility of our economy going into another depression?
because i am. a lot. not even gonna lie.

Friday, September 26, 2008

pretty sure

disregard my first blog
if you don't agree with my opinions
tell me
i don't really mind talking about it

Please

Can we please move on about the whole Sarah Palin thing
Although she's an important factor in the election,
lets not forget the election is between OBAMA and MCCAIN
not PALIN and BIDEN
Plus even though mccain is old, don't count on him dying and palin taking over
there's way too much technology these days
they'll figure out some way to keep him alive
